Bridge the Gap to University CS銜接大學電腦科學學習

Interest in computer science among high school students has grown rapidly. Yet many students have only a vague understanding of what studying CS at university truly involves.近年中學生對電腦科學的興趣日益濃厚,惟不少同學對大學修讀計算機科學的內容與要求仍未有清晰認識。

Eligibility參加資格

  • Open to Secondary 4-6 students對象為中四至中六學生
  • Individual or school group registration可個人或學校/團體形式報名
  • No prior coding experience required無須具備編程經驗
  • Must be available for all 3 days須全程出席三日活動

  • 6 members per team每隊6人

Eligibility參加資格
  • Open to currently enrolled high school students or post-secondary students (upcoming graduates are not eligible).對象為現正就讀中學或大專院校之學生(應屆畢業生不包括在內)。
  • All participants must register through the official registration channel and agree to these rules and regulations.所有參加者必須透過官方渠道報名,並同意本規則及守則。
  • By registering, participants agree to comply with all hackathon rules and regulations.完成報名即表示同意遵守所有黑客松規則及守則。
Team Formation組隊方式
  • Teams must have 4–6 members.每隊人數為 4–6 人。
  • Team members may come from the same or different schools.隊員可來自同一或不同學校。
  • Each participant may only join one team throughout the entire hackathon.每位參加者於整個活動期間只可加入一隊。
  • Team composition must be finalized before submitting the application, and cannot be changed afterward without organizer approval.隊伍名單必須於提交申請前確定;其後如需更改,必須獲主辦方批准。
Registration and Check-in報名及報到
  • All participants must complete registration before the deadline: 23:59, April 12.所有參加者必須於截止時間前完成報名:4月12日 23:59。
  • An interview will be held on April 19 as an initial evaluation of participants.4月19日將進行面試,作為參加者的初步評核。
  • Participants must check in at the venue during the designated check-in period.參加者必須於指定報到時段在場地完成報到。
  • Failure to check in on time may result in disqualification.未能按時報到者可能被取消資格。
Academic Integrity and Originality學術誠信及原創性
  • All submitted work must be original and created by the team during the hackathon period.所有提交作品必須為原創,並由隊伍於活動期間完成。
  • Copying, plagiarizing, or reusing other teams’ projects, online tutorials, sample solutions, or previously completed works is strictly prohibited.嚴禁抄襲、剽竊或重用其他隊伍作品、網上教學範例、示範解答或以往完成之作品。
  • Projects substantially similar to existing applications, competition entries, or published solutions are not allowed.不得提交與現有應用程式、比賽參賽作品或已公開方案高度相似之作品。
  • Any academic dishonesty (including code plagiarism or unauthorized collaboration between teams) will result in immediate disqualification.任何學術不誠實行為(包括程式碼抄襲或隊伍間未經授權合作)將即時取消資格。
  • Organizers may conduct plagiarism checks and request explanations of project originality.主辦方保留進行抄襲檢查及要求解釋作品原創性的權利。
  • All projects must be developed from scratch during the hackathon.所有作品必須於黑客松期間由零開始開發。
Use of External Resources外部資源使用
  • Allowed: open-source libraries/frameworks, publicly available APIs, development tools and platforms.允許使用:開源程式庫/框架、公開 API、開發工具及平台。
  • Any third-party resources used must be clearly disclosed during submission.所有使用之第三方資源必須於提交時清楚列明。
  • Not allowed: pre-built project templates, full solutions, or previously developed personal projects.不允許:預製專案模板、完整解決方案或過往個人已完成之專案。
Code of Conduct行為守則
  • Participants must behave respectfully and responsibly at all times.參加者須時刻保持尊重及負責任的態度。
  • Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.任何騷擾、欺凌、歧視或滋擾行為一概不被容忍。
  • Organizers may remove any participant who violates the code of conduct.主辦方有權移除違反行為守則之參加者。
Submission and Judging提交與評審
  • Projects must be submitted via the designated submission platform before the deadline.作品必須於截止時間前透過指定平台提交。
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.逾時提交恕不接受。
  • Projects will be evaluated based on creativity, technical implementation, relevance to the theme, and presentation quality.評審準則包括:創意、技術實現、主題相關性及展示質素。
  • Judges’ decisions are final.評審結果為最終決定。
  • All submission materials and pitching must use English as the main language.所有提交材料及現場匯報須以英文為主要語言。
Disqualification取消資格

Teams may be disqualified if they:以下情況可能導致隊伍被取消資格:

  • Violate any hackathon rules違反任何黑客松規則
  • Engage in plagiarism or copying涉及抄襲或剽竊
  • Submit incomplete or non-original projects提交不完整或非原創作品
  • Fail to comply with organizer instructions未有遵從主辦方指示
Final Interpretation最終解釋權
  • Organizers reserve the right to amend these rules when necessary.主辦方保留在有需要時修訂本規則之權利。

No prior coding experience is required! Our hackathon is designed for students with diverse technical backgrounds. We provide workshops on Day 1 to help you get started, and each team will have a dedicated mentor to guide you throughout the event.參加者無須具備任何編程經驗。本黑客松為不同技術背景之學生而設,首日將設有入門工作坊協助參加者掌握基本概念;活動期間,每隊均配備一名專屬導師提供全程指導。
Can I register individually or do I need a team?可否以個人形式報名?是否必須自行組隊?+
You can register either individually or as a school group. Individual participants will be matched with others to form complete teams of 6. School groups can register together, and we'll ensure balanced team compositions.參加者可選擇以個人或學校/團體形式報名。個人報名者將由主辦方協助配對,組成每隊 6 人之參賽隊伍;學校/團體報名者可一併登記,主辦方將按需要就隊伍組成作適當安排,以促進均衡交流。
What should I bring to the hackathon?參加活動需要攜帶哪些物品?+
Please bring your laptop with charger, student ID card, and a signed consent form if you're under 18. We'll provide meals, snacks, and all necessary materials during the event. Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm to learn!請攜帶手提電腦及充電器、學生證,以及家長同意書(適用於未滿 18 歲之參加者)。活動期間主辦方將提供膳食、小食及所需物資;並誠邀參加者以積極學習之態度投入活動。
Is the event free to attend?活動是否收費?+
Yes! The hackathon is completely free for all participants. This includes all workshops, meals, materials, and mentorship. Our goal is to make this learning experience accessible to all interested students.本活動全程免費,費用涵蓋工作坊、膳食、物資及導師支援等安排。主辦方致力讓所有對電腦科學及創科有興趣之學生,均可在無經濟門檻下參與是次學習體驗。
What happens after the hackathon?活動結束後將如何延續?+
Participants will have access to follow-up events including Python courses, workshops, and exclusive CSESS activities. We'll maintain communication channels to continue your learning journey and keep you connected with the HKUST CS community.活動結束後,參加者可繼續參與延伸活動,包括 Python 課程、工作坊及 CSESS 相關活動。主辦方將建立及維持後續溝通渠道,以延續學習進程,並促進參加者與科大電腦科學社群之交流連結。
Who are the mentors?導師團隊由誰擔任?+
Our mentors are current HKUST Computer Science and Computer Engineering students who are members of CSESS. Each team will have one dedicated mentor who will guide you through the entire hackathon experience.導師團隊由香港科技大學計算機科學及計算機工程相關課程之在讀學生組成,並為 CSESS 成員。活動期間,每隊均配備一名專屬導師,提供全程指導與支援。
